Beginner Espresso Lab

The Beginner Espresso Lab introduces the fundamentals of espresso and espresso-based beverages. Baristas will learn the history of espresso, as well as the science and craft behind the beverage. Topics include espresso distribution and dosing, grind adjustment, tamping technique, proper milk texturing, beverage preparation, espresso equipment cleaning and upkeep, espresso bar operation basics and more, with ample hands-on lab time with expert instructors. Perfect for new baristas or as a skill building refresher course, this course is a prerequisite for the Intermediate Espresso Lab, and required for Counter Culture Coffee Barista Certification.

Who should take this class: Baristas, coffee shop managers and owners, home enthusiasts, and anyone who wishes to develop espresso skills.

Prerequisites: None.
