Tiny Round Seeds of Awesome
10-2-12

After a two-year absence, we were particularly excited to welcome the return of coffee from the Ndaroini Cooperative in Nyeri, Kenya, in late-summer. In addition to the main lot (no longer available), we have a small peaberry lot, as well. Peaberries occur when only one seed grows inside a coffee cherry instead two – a phenomenon that occurs in a small percentage of any coffee plant's fruit – and they are often highly sought-after for their unique, fruity flavors.
This very limited Ndaroini Peaberry coffee is our favorite Kenyan offering of the year, and one of the best peaberry lots we have ever tasted. It's pleasingly bright with notes of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Perfectly tart and sweet.
Thanks,
Nathan
