Boston’s Jake Robinson had his Great Coffee Moment on the top of a Nicaraguan mountainside in 2011, while picking ripe coffee cherry as a participant on Counter Culture’s annual Origins Field Lab. Jake was the director of coffee for both Pavement Coffee House and several locations of Espresso Royale Caffe at the time, and the firsthand experience he got visiting coffee farms and a wet mill in the growing country’s Matagalpa region helped him bring the cafes to the next level, before he joined the Hub’s Counter Culture family. Now the technical services support team member is busy repairing equipment throughout Greater Boston, and he somehow still manages to find time to eat (everything but eggplant) and read (his favorite author is Roald Dahl), among other things.
Jake lives with several good friends just outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge, and is a good person to know in the case of a zombie apocalypse, as he claims to be “extremely well prepared.”
