Work in Progress
Fruit Bombs & Fermentation Tour – Part Two, November 2012

Our new "Work in Progress" series is a twice-yearly showcase for ongoing projects and collaborations by our incredible staff – with diverse talents and interests – and our peers in the coffee industry. We're excited to share these projects with the public and plan to take them on the road to our training centers – and, of course, you're invited!
Please join us for the second leg of the inaugural tour: Fruit Bombs & Fermentation focuses on Coffee Buyer Tim Hill's experimentation with coffee processing in Ethiopia and New York Coffee Trainer and 2012 United States Barista Champion Katie Carguilo's fermentation-inspired, USBC-winning presentation from 2012. Attendees will be able to taste exotic and experimental Ethiopian coffees along with Carguilo's awarding-winning signature beverage.
"Tim is doing incredible work with farmers from El Salvador to Burundi that challenges what we know about how processing affects flavor," observed 2012 USBC champ Katie. "And, I'm psyched to have the chance to present my USBC fermentation-inspired signature drink and take my deepening interest in and knowledge about the fermentation process to the coffee communities served by our training centers."
A second "Fruit Bombs & Fermentation" custom-edition La Marzocco GS/3 – contributed by tour co-sponsors La Marzocco – will be raffled off at the end of the tour, with tickets available at each stop along the way and proceeds going to a sustainable project in one of the coffee farms featured in the tour.
