Intermediate Espresso: Tasting and Technique builds upon knowledge gained in the prerequisite Beginner Espresso Lab. Through a series of hands-on exercises, students challenge boundaries of espresso coffee preparation with an emphasis on exploration, quality, and coffee-waste management. Guided tastings for palate development and critical analysis comprise much of this half-day lab; students should come prepared to taste multiple espresso coffees. This lab is required for Counter Culture Barista Certification.
Who should take this class: Baristas, coffee shop managers and owners, home enthusiasts, and anyone who wishes to develop espresso skills.
Prerequisites: Beginner Espresso Lab; practical barista experience highly recommended.
