Professional Certification

Counter Intelligence provides baristas with the skills and knowledge necessary to share better coffee with their communities and colleagues built around a certification program with two tracks for coffee professionals:

Counter Culture Coffee Barista Certification:
This certification focuses especially on espresso-coffee education and preparation. After attending  labs in espresso and milk mechanics, certified baristas pass a written test on the course content, and perform successfully in a practical test demonstrating knowledge of espresso preparation and ability to prepare drinks to exacting standards.

Counter Culture Coffee Steward Certification:
Coffee stewards guide the coffee drinker through selecting, purchasing, brewing, and tasting specialty coffees. Coffee Stewards complete coursework in Brewing Science, Cupping, and Coffee Origins, and demonstrate knowledge, skill, and accuracy through a written and palate-challenging test.
