Jonathan is a Pennsylvania native who was long-ago initiated as an official North Carolinian and dedicated coffee person. He's worked within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill "Triangle" coffee community for nearly 10 years, and has been a member of Counter Culture’s Southeast regional sales team for the past two years. He was a second place finisher in the 2012 Southeast Regional Brewer's Cup competition, the 2013 Southeast Regional Brewers Cup Champion, and took second place in the 2013 United States Brewers Cup Championship. He looks forward to bringing home the gold (or the Golden Cup, if you will) in future competitions. He’s also passed on his expertise and love of coffee on to his wife, Jenny, who's now in charge of brewing their morning cups – while Jonathan sleeps in as late as possible.

Jonathan’s beagle, Frank, is his favorite back-up singer, and will howl along while Jonathan plays guitar. Aside from Frank, Jonathan idolizes Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, and one of his prized possessions is a ukulele signed by the singer. Frank and the coveted ukulele raise a racket with Jonathan and Jenny in their Raleigh home.
