For over a decade, Meister has lived a kind of double life of coffee and journalism – though which side of her is Dr. Jekyll and which Mr. Hyde she’s not sure. On the caffeinated side, she’s been drinking, making, teaching, and writing about specialty coffee since 2001, and has been a part of Counter Culture’s customer support team since 2008. As a writer and editor, she’s contributed work to The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, Time Out NY, BUST, Slashfood.com, and Barista Magazine, and she is currently a coffee columnist for SeriousEats.com.

Aside from training baristas – and writing about training baristas – Meister looks most forward to running long distances (and smiling while doing it: runningwhilesmiling.blogspot.com), reading long books, and eating long dinners with her husband and dog in a very small Manhattan apartment.
