Everyman Espresso – New York, NY
My inaugural experience with Counter Culture Coffee was in 2004 at a coffeeshop in my hometown of Sarasota, FL. It was my first exposure to quality coffees and the techniques that serve them best. I can thank Counter Culture’s commitment to the support of their accounts for establishing my solid foundation of knowledge and training.
At the heart of Counter Culture’s brand is a clear goal to invest in coffee people. The value that Counter Culture creates through education and technical support is a compelling reason to continue our relationship. When one looks out at the current landscape of specialty coffee vendors, Counter Culture consistently stands out as a measure of quality and service. Over the years you’d expect changes as the company grows. Counter Culture’s evolution since the early days is very impressive. With the opening of training centers across the U.S. they have dramatically increased access to coffee education and technical support. The addition of a new California roasting facility makes west coast representation possible. The new roasting facility in Durham communicates their holistic growth trajectory to improve existing operations. Clearly Counter Culture is the only choice for Everyman Espresso.
Through maintaining our close relationship with Counter Culture Coffee, we have received access to the most-treasured coffees across the globe and developed very personal relationships with the people who produce those delicious coffees. With access to training space, competition equipment, and elusive coffees, we have won several barista competitions and are internationally recognized among our peers and media darlings alike as the best coffee shop in the United States of America.
Counter Culture has routinely delivered more than promised. For example, we have had access to very exclusive coffees from prized producer lots from Aida Batlle. They even supported me personally when I approached Counter Culture with a dream to travel to Melbourne, Australia, to aide the now-World Brewers Cup champ Erin McCarthy.
Without the support of Counter Culture, Everyman Espresso would face most challenges alone. I’m so blessed to have found a home among the great shops that represent such a stellar coffee company.
