2025 Seeds Fund Recipient
The Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU) has been awarded a Seeds grant to supply clean cookstoves to 325 members of the Idido and Koke cooperatives. These stoves will cut cooking-related emissions by 50%, reduce wood use, and improve the health of the families who use them. Additionally, the project aims to generate revenue for YCFCU and its members by way of accessing carbon credit programs. This grant contributes to a broader initiative reaching 20,000 producers, with a total program cost of $316,200.
Seeds Program
Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Seeds program. Annually, $1 per pound of our winter coffee blend, Iridescent, goes to further increase our contribution. Seeds offers financial grants to producers and producer organizations we work with to implement sustainability projects they identify as beneficial. To date, we’ve allocated over $500,000 to Seeds projects.
