2024 Seeds Fund Recipient

The Asprocaes Association has been awarded a 2024 Seeds Grant to complete their lab project, building upon the 2023 Seeds Grant used to establish a coffee sensory analysis lab. This lab is in the association’s centrally-located warehouse and allows for more efficient quality evaluation, eliminating the need for several hour-long trips to the city each week during harvest.

The lab's strategic location also fosters youth participation in the coffee industry by specifically hiring young people from the community for these roles. The initiative therefore not only enhances the quality of their coffee, but also provides valuable employment opportunities, encouraging the younger generation to engage in and sustain the coffee production industry.

  • Seeds Program

Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Seeds program. Annually, $1 per pound of our winter coffee blend, Iridescent, goes to further increase our contribution. Seeds offers financial grants to producers and producer organizations we work with to implement sustainability projects they identify as beneficial. To date, we’ve allocated over $450,000 to Seeds projects.
