Quality Infrastructure And Training

2018 Seeds Fund Recipient

Using a Counter Culture Coffee Seeds grant, thirty members of the Cinco de Junio cooperative received training on good agricultural practices, climate change resilience, harvesting, processing, and wet mill management. These farmers also received assistance upgrading their wet mills to produce higher quality coffee and to avoid contamination of their water sources.

Year after year, this co-op maximizes the scant resources available, never losing sight of their desire to produce some of the highest quality, organically grown coffee in Nicaragua.

  • Seeds Program

Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Seeds program. Annually, $1 per pound of our winter coffee blend, Iridescent, goes to further increase our contribution. Seeds offers financial grants to producers and producer organizations we work with to implement sustainability projects they identify as beneficial. To date, we’ve allocated over $280,000 to Seeds projects.
