Single-Origin | Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

Idido

floral | melon | citrus

Roast Level

The coffees we purchase from the Idido cooperative are simply remarkable. They’re not only some of the highest quality offerings we buy each year but also come from our longest-running partnership in East Africa. Idido’s members reside in some of Ethiopia's highest-elevation coffee-growing areas. This renowned terroir is famous for producing coffee flavors that are both highly aromatic and complex. We taste delicate floral notes alongside flavors of melon and citrus.

Subscriber-Exclusive | Loja, Ecuador

Fundochamba

dried apricot | milk chocolate | almond

Roast Level

light roast

Fundochamba is a small mountain community just outside of Quilanga in Ecuador’s Loja province. Local farmers have partnered with Roberto Jimenez of Capamaco Trading, whose expertise has connected them to the specialty market. This season presented some unique challenges as wildfires spread across the mountains near Quilanga at the tail end of the harvest. Undeterred, Roberto navigated the fires with his truck to collect coffee from each grower, ensuring their harvest wasn’t lost. Fortunately, no one was injured, farm damage was minimal, and the coffee emerged unscathed. We love this coffee for its dried apricot-like fruit tones layered over a cozy chocolate and toasted almond base.
