Finca Santa Elena was nearly destroyed during the eruption of the Santa Ana volcano in 2005. For owner Fernando Lima, the disaster became a turning point. He rebuilt the farm with a focus on quality, replanting and adopting cultivation, processing, and drying practices that improved both sustainability and cup quality. Today, Finca Santa Elena stands as a testament to resilience and innovation, offering some of the best coffee in the region. We taste roasted cocoa, with a sweet cashew nuttiness and dried cherry finish.

In a region historically marred by mining, the Asociación de Caficultores Miguelenses (ACMI) in San Miguel Ixtahuacán offers a meaningful economic and environmental alternative. This farmer-run organization has helped its more than 450 members transition to organic practices through agronomy support, and has built the infrastructure needed to bring their coffees to the specialty market. In doing so, ACMI has helped cultivate a local economy around organic farming. Coffees from this area are nuanced yet approachable, with a sweetness reminiscent of milk chocolate and toasted almonds.
