A delicious cup of decaf is a beautiful thing. This lot was harvested by the producers of K’uychi in Nariño, Colombia, and decaffeinated at Colombia’s only decaffeination plant, which uses a derivative of sugarcane, called ethyl acetate, in the process. The result is one of the sweetest and most complex cups of decaf we've ever tasted, with notes of black cherry, dried date, and molasses.

There are many ways to remove caffeine from unroasted coffee beans, and many facilities that carry out this task. Counter Culture offers coffees decaffeinated by water or ethyl acetate, a sugarcane derivative. The latter is used to decaffeinate Decaf K’uychi. The result is one of the sweetest, most complex cups of decaffeinated coffee we've ever tasted. The coffee is decaffeinated at DESCAFECOL, Colombia’s first and only decaffeination plant.

Decaf coffee drinkers are the true coffee lovers––here for the flavor, not the kick.

K’uychi means “rainbow” in the Quechua language and is the name the farmers chose for their coffee to distinguish it from other regional groups.
