At just 19 years old, Esgar Fernandez is the youngest member of his family to take up the family business. The Fernandez family has played a central role in showcasing the quality potential of the small community of La Higuera, and we’ve had the privilege of purchasing many lots over the years from his siblings and nearby relatives. As is customary in many farming communities, Esgar was gifted a small piece of land by his family once he became an adult. Though already planted with coffee, Esgar took over the management responsibilities of this 3.5-hectare plot, which keeps him busy year-round. With guidance from his talented family, Esgar continues their tradition of excellence with a lot that explodes with complex fruit notes of blackberry, stone fruit, and clementine.
