2025 Bloom Fund Recipient

LVL UP Coffee is a quality driven coffee shop in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago. The baristas reside locally, and reliable transportation can be challenging. LVL UP has been awarded a BLOOM grant to fund their Bikes for Baristas program to help mitigate this challenge. 

Bikes for Baristas allows LVL UP to purchase and maintain a small fleet of bicycles for their staff to use 24/7 to commute to work and around the city. By providing free-to-use personal bike access with full maintenance support, Bikes for Baristas removes the material barriers that make transportation challenging, and delivers dependable, equitable, and sustainable transportation to everyone on the team. It empowers workers, supports workplace stability, and advances social and environmental justice in under-resourced communities.

Bloom Fund

Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Bloom program. Annually, $1 per pound of our spring coffee blend, Perennial, goes to further increase our contribution. Bloom provides grants to support sustainability initiatives at Counter Culture Coffee partner cafes. Rooted in the belief that everyone’s path toward sustainability looks a little different, this program supports projects of all shapes and sizes our partners identify as impactful.
