2024 Seeds Fund Recipient

Mountain Harvest has been awarded a 2024 Seeds Grant to implement an agroforestry project among its members. This initiative will provide agroforestry education and shade tree seedlings to women farmers, focusing on avocado and macadamia trees to boost income. Mountain Harvest field staff will offer technical support to ensure proper tree planting and management according to best practices. The project aims to enhance coffee productivity and climate resilience for 200 farmers.

The idea for this project originated from an impact evaluation conducted by 60 Decibels, which identified this educational strategy as a key opportunity for improvement. This prompted Mountain Harvest to apply for the grant, recognizing the potential for agroforestry to increase both economic and environmental sustainability for their members.
